Because there were SO many guesses about the picture from yesterday, I figured I would relieve the suspense. hah
bri, you were right. That's my mom and dad. I love that picture. It was from when they were in high school. I found it on my dad's friend's facebook page a few months ago and I had to snag it. My mom doesn't even remember the picture. I love it.
But I have something else to share. So you all know I'm a dancer. And I love collaboration of the arts. Well this is the ultimate collaboration. It is contemporary dance, illustration, and amazing music all in one. Illustrated by Ryan Woodward, an art professor at BYU and choreographed by Kori Wakamatsu, a contemporary dance teacher at BYU. The song is World Spins Madly On by The Weepies.
When I saw this for the first time last semester, I literally was in tears because of how beautifully it was put together.
I hope everyone who sees this is able to understand how the arts brings people together and really touches the core of humanity.

awh, that was so good! i wasnt expecting it to be a drawing, but it was awesome.
ReplyDeletei guess i just completely ignored the "illustrated" part in your blog. haha
ReplyDeleteYeah, what they did is after the dance was choreographed and the dancers knew it really well, they recorded it so he could illustrate it and it was something like 24 frames per second that he was working on. Pretty crazy.
